Fiberglass Showers and Tubs

The first step in this process is to check for damage to the unit. Unfortunately, fiberglass unit are not always installed with proper support underneath. We clean the unit thoroughly and sand down the fiberglass. Needed repairs are then made. We mask off everything in the room. Next, we clean the unit again, this time with a solvent to remove all the dust from sanding. We then apply four coats of undercoat and follow that with six coats of topcoat. Your newly resurfaced shower can be used in 24 hours.

Repairs and Foam Injections

When we have to repair most fiberglass units it is because there is no support underneath the unit. So, we have to take care of that problem before we can actually proceed with the repairs. First, we drill a series of holes in the bottom of the unit. We fill them with a polyurethane expanding foam (such as what they make surfboards out of). The foam is lightweight, but gets almost as hard as concrete. Then, we fiberglass the holes along with any cracks and holes that need to be repaired. Next, we blend in a color to match the unit as closely as possible. We can also put a nonskid mat on the bottom for more support. The unit may be used in 24 hours.
